| Exploring a new musical
horizon of the irresistible rhythms of Brazilian bossa nova and samba fused
with electronica, funk, triphop, drum n’ bass, and disco-house, is a collaborative
outfit of prominent musicians spanning Brazil from north to south collectively
known as <BPM>.
<BPM> is like a creative playground, setting new trends by delving into a combination of technological modern sounds (Beats Per Minute - BPM) with traditional Brazilian music (Musica Popular Brasileira - MPB). The group consists of founding members, producers/composers, André Bourgeois and Geisan Varne, with featured artists like the Bossa Cuca Nova, original bossa nova guitar hero Roberto Menescal, Raoul Mascarenhas (one of the most famous sax players in Brazil), Andrea Marquee, Claudinho Andrade (Gilberto Gil's keyboardist), Havana Brasil, and Carlos Trilha. Together they have garnered themselves an MTV Brasil nomination for Best Electronica music video for their smashing single “Rainforest 2000 “ from this, their debut album, The Next Brazilian Vibe Experience, Vol.1.
